About the author:
I’m in my third year of psychology at TRU. I grew up in Kamloops, but I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and I moved here when I was 4. After initially planning to major in Geography and Environmental Studies, I found my passion in Psychology after taking an introductory class as an elective. I decided to change my major when I realized I really didn’t enjoy environmental studies. Once I graduate, I plan to do my master’s at Memorial University in Newfoundland and work as a clinical counsellor.
Outside of school, I enjoy working on textile arts such as sewing and knitting, as well as hiking and jogging. While I’m not currently employed, as I decided to take the summer and fall semesters off, I previously worked as a waitress. I’m also volunteering with Girl Guides as a leader for the 2nd Mount Paul Sparks, working with 6-year-old girls. I’ve been in Girl Guides since I was a kid, so working as a Leader is great because I can share the experiences I had when I was a kid with the girls in my unit.
